Election strategies that have failed us in the past.
"He's too old to be president."

"He's too feeble to be president."

"His memory is going."

"He might not live through an entire term."

"He's a liar, liar, liar."

"Of course he'll raise taxes, he'll have to raise taxes."

"He picked a stupid VP."

"Our VP has way more experience than his VP."

"His VP is not ready to take over, ours is."

"Hey, we said his VP is REALLY stupid."

"Did we mention that his VP is also corrupt?"

"Come on, his VP is a joke!"

"Our nominee kicked their nominee's ass in the debates."

"Our VP nominee kicked their VP nominee's ass in the debates."

"Look at all the young people who are voting for our candidate."

"Don't believe the polls."

"He's corrupt, and should even be in jail."

"He cheated on his wife." (that one has failed for both sides)

--------------------------

Election strategies that have won for us. "Our economic policy will create jobs, raise wages, put more money in your pocket, make your children's future more secure, and make sure that we give our children a greater America than the one our parents gave us. Our nation will once again be the envy of the world."

1. Have we dems ever tried the "liar" angle before
I seem to remember it working for Bush in 2000.

2. The only election strategy..
I employ is volunteering and spreading the truth. Don't know if that is a win or lose in the past.

3. There is plenty of truth.
The world is round, water is wet... What facts you choose to spread determines how people see you. If we say "McCain is an idiot, Palin is crooked, their policies have failed in the past," people will shrug and say "Yeah, sounds right. So what's in it for me?" McCain will then make promises and they will still vote for him. We start out by telling people what's in it for them. That's truth. But it's a truth that can win for us.

4. No..there is a lack of truth..
which is the problem. There is so much mis-information out there it is insane. Right now I'm doing hand-outs for my local Dem Headquarters that are filled with facts. Water is not blue when people are told it is gray.
