Were the Bush twins making double entendres about felching on network TV?
Was I watching the Republican National Convention last night? All of a sudden the Barbara Bush says:

We had a hamster too. Let's just say ours didn't make it.

What is this even supposed to mean? Is this supposed to be about "felching", putting small live rodents into your anal cavity for sexual pleasure? I think I've only seen one reference to this on television ever, where Richard Gere was dismissing the urban legend about him during an interview. Isn't this worse than Janet Jackson's breast as far as grossness goes? Not to mention the cruelty-to-animals angle on it.

I mean, why would she say "let's just say" unless there was something she didn't want to say?

This could also be an insult to gay and lesbian people because in their minds, this may have been a stunt to achieve some sort of parity with Cheney's daughter being a lesbian, thus it may be some sort of equation of homosexuality with felching, or some sort of one-upmanship.

I love you Barbara, but what was that?

1. Actually, I think felching is something else (involving Santorum)
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 10:02 AM by swag
and I think you're referring to gerbil-stuffing which, of course, is a family tradition in Crawford.

on edit: added link to "felch" definition (not for the delicate souls):

2. Ha but I was half-correct though!
It's other meaning does indeed refer to the practise of de-fanging & de-clawing small rodentia (typically gerbils or hamsters) and inserting them into one's bottom for the sexual pleasure derived from the twisting & twitching of their death throes as they suffocate.

a postive thing for Bush family. All they had to do was say something nice. Be positive Keep it short. Do not try and be Don Rickles and folks would have said they were great.

38. IMO, Karen Hughes wrote that in as a dig to Kerry's actual heroism in
the rescue of the hampster. When the Twin's said "I'll leave it at that" the audience was left to ponder the meaning.

Hughes is assuming that everyone in America is rivited on politics and a light will go off in their heads as to the joke's hidden slam on Kerry.

12. Did you ever see the episode of "South Park"
where Mr. Garrison is trying to get fired for being too gay, so he puts Lemmywinks the gerbil inside Mr. Slave's ass in front of the whole class. Lemmywinks goes on a quest inside his ass, where he meets the ghosts of other small animals. It was very, very fucked up.

15. Whaaaaaaaat????
Never in a million years would something like that have entered my mind! Of course I've never heard of such a practice, but I doubt seriously that's what she meant. I think it's more along the lines of something she reportedly also said (I didn't watch), "it's payback time", for a daddy who put them in a position they despise.

Btw, what did you mean by this: "I love you Barbara, but what was that?"

No offense, but THAT statement was a little weird!

I think they were both higher than shit. I'm amazed no one has suggested this yet (or maybe someone has). That's the kind of stuff that made me giggle when I smoked up in college.

Wait a minute, no it wasn't... that hamster shit would have been too stupid for me, even high on blonde Lebanese.

The twins were high, folks.
