Biden gets intense about Patriotism; defends his comments
The veep candidate calls on Democrats to defend their patriotism from GOP attacks.

“I tell you Democrats, don’t you step down from anybody telling you that we don’t have the American values they value. I have had it up to here.”

Plus: In an interview with CBS, Biden stands by his earlier assertion that it’s an act of patriotism for higher-income Americans to pay more in taxes, to finance a tax cut for others.

“The people who do not need a new tax cut should be willing as patriotic Americans to understand the way to get this economy back up on their feet is to give middle-class taxpayers a break.”

Responding to criticism of his comment, says heatedly: “I am so sick and tired of this phoniness.”

3. Go Joe!!
Is he going to get equal time yet on the air (vs. Palin)?

Doesn't media matters count air time coverage for each candidate, or is it another site? I'd love to know what the numbers are.

6. Excellent. Fight back against the smears and mischaracterizations
I kept wondering WHY Democrats would just sit there and let the MSM or the Repubs twist their words or let Repubs claim the mantle of patriotism without pushing back. It's about damned time.

10. Which is more patriotic -
Pandering to the low-tax crowd and going so far in debt to the Communist Chinese that they can basically topple our entire economy whenever they want by calling in their chits,

or

being as self-reliant as you can be so you can chart your own course.

11. Go Biden! I am so glad he is not backing down.
Why do the repugs hate America so much that they would rather run our country into the ground than pay taxes?

Go Joe Go!

16. Warren Buffet is all for higher taxes on the rich
NEW YORK, June 26 -- Warren E. Buffett was his usual folksy self Tuesday night at a fundraiser for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) as he slammed a system that allows the very rich to pay taxes at a lower rate than the middle class.

Buffett cited himself, the third-richest person in the world, as an example. Last year, Buffett said, he was taxed at 17.7 percent on his taxable income of more than $46 million. His receptionist was taxed at about 30 percent.

18. I love a pissed off Joe. He is so right about them questioning our patriotism.
I am tired of it too. Tired of being told we are not for our country just because we call on others to sacrifice or we disagree with out government on something. The founding fathers would recoil in horror if they knew that is what was going on over 200 years later. We are SUPPOSED to question our gov, we are SUPPOSED to have a real debate on what is right or wrong with this country. I am glad we finally have two candidates who stick to their guns as well and don't let the Rethugs shove them around. McLame might have a nasty temper but Joe has an Irish one!

21. Go Joe!
I love how he's so unrepentant because he's right. You need to defend yourself when it counts.

Plus, I love his quote about how if anyone says anything belittling his Catholic faith that he'd shove his rosary beads down their throats.
