Todd Palin: Same Shit, Different Asshole

Todd Palin, the husband of vice presidential candidate Sarah “McCandy” Palin, will not comply with a subpoena to appear before an Alaska legislative committee this morning to testify about his role in Troopergate scandal currently unfolding in Alaska.

That was the word Thursday from Ed O’Callaghan, a former New York Federal prosecutor now working for the McCain-Palin campaign.

Sound familiar? It should.

Karl Rove also thumped his snout at a subpoena issued by the United States Congress looking into the firing of nine United States attorneys who appear to have been removed for partisan political reasons. Rove may have been directly involved in these illegal firings.

But Todd Palin is no Karl Rove. Rove, until his resignation in 2007, was George W. Bush’s Deputy Chief of Staff. Long characterized as “Bush’s brain,” Rove was the architect of Bush’s ascent within the conservative movement. Todd Palin, is a fishmonger and rumored to be the stealth political partner to his wife, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

In a stunning letter ripe with hubris, Todd Palin, through his Anchorage attorney, Thomas Van Flein, argued that legislators lack legal authority to investigate the governor. But Todd Palin isn’t the governor — he’s a private citizen not elected to office.

Therefore, Todd Palin can’t seek legal refuge under the protective umbrella of his governor wife’s coattails.

2. nothing to hide
I hope you don't really mean that. With that kind of logic one could assume it's ok to tap our phones and such.

3. Todd Palin's response is typical of those who assume it's okay to tap our phones and such.
When it's done to US, they say, "Why worry if you have nothing to hide?" When done to THEM, they claim that it's unconstitutional.
