ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA) -- Senator John McCain will be in Annapolis this weekend for his 50th class reunion.

The Republican presidential nominee graduated from the Naval Academy in 1958.

McCain's public schedule has him attending the football game Saturday afternoon between Navy and Rutgers.

It's unclear whether he'll participate in other reunion festivities.

1. For a guy who went to 50 colleges,
he doesn't come across as that well-informed.

:hi:

2. He is WAY more qualified than his running mate.
She only went to 5 or 6 schools, if I recall correctly.

4. My brother-in-law is an Annapolis graduate and an Obama supporter.
One of my sister's co-workers assumed that, because of her husband's military service, she had to be a McCain supporter and made some off the wall anti Obama comment to her. My sister set her straight and she has not spoken to her since.

As a former naval officer myself, I don't see a lot of support for McCain coming from people who wore the same uniform.

8. Ageism is just wrong - and it doesn't help Obama in any way.
McCain gives us a lot to use against him, very valid issues, unlike his age.

Plus, a great number of seniors are supporting McCain and this kind of stuff doesn't help Obama win them over.

President. Besides his health is another important issue.

Otherwise I agree with you. :hi:

11. Sure it helps Obama
But only if it's subtle, as in letting people draw their own conclusions about his age. I believe that, coupled with his ill-advised choice of Palin, is one of the things that's moving the needle for Obama.

12. Sorry, with his age, medical history, and totally unqualified choice for vp...
...it's an issue.

13. A great number of seniors (including my grandma) are supporting Obama
because they know how it is to be 70... or 80... which is how old he'll be if he lives long enough to get 2 terms in office.

16. I don't think we should use age.
But I think age will do him in.

I'm not even a senior (51) yet, but I can tell you that ageism is the most brutal prejudice in the employment market at least.

15. Sure makes him sound old 50 years out of college (not HS)
Obama isn't even 50 years old yet.

18. Interesting NYT Magazine article today with class now preferring Obama...
for his think before shooting attitude, cool leadership style and temperament. There is a generational shift in the mindset of war and responsibility in new recruits. Don't have time to link.

Also today in the paper is the questioning out there by his captors denying the torture (really crash injuries), etc, and pictures of comraderie. Wonderful if story will have legs.
