Obama absolutely destroyed McCain on CNN just now
Edited on Sat Sep-20-08 03:13 PM by EarlG
Live coverage of a rally... he was working in everything.

* old boy network is a McCain staff meeting.

* McCain champion of deregulation, almost three decades in Washington

* McCain "panicking"

* Phil Gramm - "mental recession" and "nation of whiners"

* the dozens of lobbyists on McCain's staff with connection to the financial industry

* McCain own words: he wants to do to healthcare what he did to the banking industry

* the Fannie Mae guy saying that McCain's campaign staff looks like the team of lobbyists who used to report to him.

All in the space of five minutes. They're really going on the offensive now.

4. And This WILL NOT STOP Until The Election
McCain is going to be buried under a blizzard of non-stop attacks from now on. He won't be able to catch his breath for a moment and will be constantly reeling.

30. I'm with you on that.
I have posted before that I was frustrated that Obama wasn't whacking McCain on a daily basis. (I got slammed more than once for those posts, I might add). But aggressive is the ONLY way to campaign for President. The truth is, the Republicans know and understand this. Now today there is a post on DU linking to the most recent Gallup poll showing Obama leading 50% to 44%.

Keep up the pressure, Barack! Let McCain know there will be no letup!

13. McLame defends Privatizing Social Security.
Sen. Obama should have mentioned that McLame still wants to privatize Social Security. Once seniors get this into their heads they will not vote for McLame & Pit Bull Palin.

11. Yep. Obama's got game.
I never put 2 and 2 together, but excelling at a competitive sport would probably help one do well at campaigning. You learn how to deploy your resources when they are most needed, the time and the place for offensive vs defensive strategies, how to press an advantage, and when to shoot, when to pass, and when to take the foul, and when to run the clock out.

18. I'm afraid he's catching a cold.
He keeps pinching the end of his nose during speeches, and he sneezed during a speech in NM the other day.

He needs robust health and no meds for the debate Friday night.

41. Nixon's awful look in the debate against Kennedy, which
most people believe cost him the 1960 election, was actually caused by the fact that he was just recovering from a nasty virus. Those who listened to that debate on the radio thought Nixon won, but those who watched it on TV said JFK won.

Of course, Nixon always looked shady and shifty, even when he wasn't sick.

31. Candidates usually take a couple of days off...
before the debate. It's both to prepare and take a breather.

Your concern is warranted, though. I just read an article today about how Nixon had the flu during his debate with Kennedy. Dukakis was reportedly sick for the last debate (I think it was the last one) and his performance suffered.

26. Gee, I think they call this...strategy
something any president should be adept at...Imagine if Bush had shown this sort of long-term thinking after 911. Imagine how he could have pulled our nation together for the good of us all, and united us with our allies and made new ones. Imagine if our President had a brain.....

GOBAMA! I WANT THE SMARTEST PEOPLE IN THE LAND!

(p.s. a nod to chess players and tennis players everywhere, since you will also recognize the brilliant strategy employed by our man...)
