Will you be sitting up Nov. 3rd watching the ELECTION RESULTS?
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 01:09 PM by UdoKier
Even if I'm confident of a Kerry win on that night, I don't think I can do it. I hate election night, the nausea, the suspense, the red states! Just hearing them say "CNN has no called the state of Texas for Bush" etc. will just make me ill. The thought that ANYONE who is a citizen off this country casting a vote for four more years of this horror is just too much.

I'll wait til the morning, buy the newspaper and read the results in peace.

That would be 6 in the west and we would lose so many other important elections. Let's hope they report that Kerry won at 8 pst.

26. Actually...
...Kerry won't begin to rack up electoral votes before 9 p.m. It's just the reality of the election these days. States like Kentucky, Indiana and Georgia will be returning early -- and they'll probably go for Bush.

9:00 is the time to START watching the returns if you're a Kerry fan. That's when states like Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan will be reporting.

Now that I think of it, we probably WILL know by 9:30 whether Kerry will have a good night, as most of the swing states will begin reporting around this time...

4. Oh yes
I'll be up til the early hours. I'm going to have plenty of alcohol so I can either party my heart out or drink away my sorrows. I also have created a nice mix CD of victory music to play that night. I'll be biting my finger nails all the way, but I'll be glued to that TV til the bitter or sweet ending.

having a tuesday night group-hug kind of thing, I hesitate to call it a party since I'm sure I'll be depressed no matter how it ends

If Kerry wins, he will certainly have his work cut out for him. Repube congress, repube courts, repube media collossus...

see how vile and dirty they are just trying to hold their power. I shudder at how low they will go if they lose it :evilfrown:

10. I will be having an open-house that night for my Dem friends
to drop by at anytime and stay as long as they want into the evening (or into the next morning).

I think we need to support each other that night, so my house will be open with food and drink, pets and kids, so that we can watch the election results together. (And I am betting on having a big celebration around midnight!)

I'm working for a local Dem candidate for state rep in my district, so I'll be at her house for some of the evening, but back home later to wait up for results. I've been waiting for that night for four years and I'm not sitting it out, good or bad. And I'll probably be getting quite drunk, either way.

20. HAVE to watch
As much as the angst, terror, stomach churning and hyteria of 2000, makes my rational brain say "are you fucking nuts?" - I will have to watch, I couldnt sleep a flippin WINK unless I overdosed, knowing what was going on and *I* didnt know.

As wonderful or shitty as it turns out to be, I have to watch it. The brain cramping moments when they say "CNN/NBC/WHOEVER projects..." wil surely age me this time around.

25. No need to stay up too late. We'll know by 11 pm.
We'll pretty much know all we need to know by 11:00pm. If Kerry gets 3 of PA, OH, FL, MI, then Kerry wins. If he loses 2 of them but gets MO or TN, it's still a Kerry win. If he loses 3 or more, then you don't want to know...

Professors are the worst! I dunno what I'm gonna do. I may just try to study well before Nov. 2, then just stay up most of the night, maybe skip morning classes to catch a little sleep, head to my comparative politics class, then study some more and go to my chem exam.

But yeah, it sucks. Couldn't it be the following week or something?!

I'm having a small group of friends over to my place for an election party. There'll be Kerry_Edwards cups, Kerry-Edwards buttons, Blue jar candles (for each blue state), an electoral map drawn on my inkboard, and tons of alcohol.

No matter how it ends-up, we'll be stinking drunk.
