Today I found this Tube where Sarah Palin supposedly made this flub, referring to the campaign as the, "Palin and McCain" Presidential campaign. I was thinking to myself, "Self!" says I. "What a dumb ass... She has some visions of grander coming out in a slippage of tongue." That is until I read in a couple different places, she didn't say this just one time.
She has said it a couple three times.. and because of this revelation it all stuck in my head.. Saving it for when I could post it later. Then tonight I read the piece in the New Yorker titled, "The State of Sarah Palin The peculiar political landscape of the Vice-Presidential hopeful." by Philip Gourevitch and suddenly all my intake for the last few days suddenly fell into place and it is all rather scary, the clarity that has been brought to the surface.
Recently, I read where she had compared herself to, Harry Truman.
The deal about Harry Truman is that the President died in office and old Harry took over and was the first, (and only person so far) to use a nuclear weapon...
QUOTE: "Then came the Palin's suggestion that she is Harry Truman's natural successor, an inexperienced, little known small town pol who suddenly rises to meet the global crises of the day:
My parents are here tonight, and I am so proud to be the daughter of Chuck and Sally Heath. Long ago, a young farmer and habber-dasher from Missouri followed an unlikely path to the vice presidency. So now, I'm remembering something else I read about how a friend of her's told her, QUOTE: "Laura Chase, the campaign manager during Ms. Palin’s first run for mayor in 1996, recalled the night the two women chatted about her ambitions.
“I said, ‘You know, Sarah, within 10 years you could be governor,’ ” Ms. Chase recalled. “She replied, ‘I want to be president.’ ” (NY Times.)http://open.salon.com/content.php?cid=19987
