She's in New York meeting with the New York Fed. Frank and Dodd both have proposals circulating.

I see the big Dem players in the down-and-dirty congressional maneuvering as, in order, Pelosi, Frank, Reid, Dodd, Hillary.

Obama is in the above-the-fray position of giving his imprimatur to whatever emerges as the practical Dem consensus in Congress.

If he was asking my advice () I would advise following Hillary's blocking. She's awfully smart about the political framing of an economic message. (Better than Pelosi and Reid, for instance.)

Obama will be giving an economic address today in Green Bay which will surely mirror the general emerging Democratic Congressional consensus, but may tip the ongoing debates over Dodd or Frank's priorities, and compensation emphasis.

For populist political reasons, I expect Obama to emphasize compensation reform, though I will not be surprised if that doesn't make the bill. (There are practical problems with it.)

4. No, CNBC is the financial channel. If you get MSNBC you probably have CNBC on your system (???)

5. I'm out of luck - no cable. But I would like to hear what she has to say,
since Bill said she was offering a different plan. I'd like to hear all the options to better form my own opinion (like my opinion will influence the vote in any way :eyes:)

7. I don't know if CNBC webcasts. She won't offer a different plan, but additional.
Hillary wants to bring back the depression era Homeowners Loan Corporation.

(I forgot a word... it's HOLC but I don't remember the "O")

8. That's it! I heard Bill refer to it, but wasn't familiar with it.
Not finding a stream, but I'm sure there will be coverage of what she says.

9. The O is probably "owner" D'oh! Here's some background for you:
This is just something I googled. I don't read this blog and don't know the guy's general position, but glancing at it, it has a lot of discussion of HOLC versus RTC style programs
