Hey Dems on Capitol Hill---Listen up--It doesn't matter what regulations
you write into the bail out bill. If Bush doesn't like them, he'll take the money and use a "signing statement" to get around the rest.

You had better add a "no signing statement can be used to ignore the law" clause into the text of the law, or what you pass won't mean a damned thing, because you don't have the spine to enforce what you write against that prick in the WH.

2. If Bush wants to declare that the Constitution allows him to break regulations...
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 03:24 PM by Eric J in MN
...nothing in a bill can stop Bush from declaring that.

If they don't trust Bush, then Congress shouldn't give him $700 billion at all.

If I were a Congressman, I'd vote against this bill no matter how much seemingly good stuff the Democrats add.

Wait until we have a new president before passing any major new bills.

I do NOT trust Bush with $700 billion.

4. Bush has a magic signing statement pen
It counters the effect of a "no signing statement clause".

Don't mess with the wizard.
