...unfolding on my computer screen.

Heavy metal, and men with large motorcycles at a Presidential rally.

*vomits

8. My post a few days ago:
Have you ever seen the movie "Idiocracy"? Great flick. An average intelligence man named "Joe" is put in cold storage for a couple hundred years. In those years humanity's more intelligent members are out bred by the complete mouth-breathing idiots of the world. The resulting society is a bunch of true morons who spray their plants with an energy drink called Brawndo (The thirst quencher). The plants start dying as a result but they are oblivious to the matter.

There is even a site dedicated to marketing to idiots that seems to be the flavor of the day. Get set for laughs: http://www.brawndo.com / .

Brando, a popular sports drink that claims to be what thirsty plants crave contains electrolytes. Nobody has any idea what electrolytes are (even Joe) but Joe tries to explain to them by getting to the bottom of things as to what they are and why they are used to feed the plants.

Joe: What *are* these electrolytes? Do you even know?
Secretary of State: They're... what they use to make Brawndo!
Joe: But *why* do they use them to make Brawndo?
Secretary of Defense: Because Brawndo's got electrolytes.

The resulting conversation basically reveals that the people only think that "Brawndo is what thirsty plants crave" because the marketed products claims are taken as law regardless of actual evidence to the contrary. In the end Joe saves the idiots from themselves and proves to them that the slogan was inaccurate by switching them to water after some serious shenanigans...involving penis shaped monster trucks...I shit you not.

It turns out that "electrolytes" are salt.

There is a similar mantra in our country now. No evidence that it works and actually much evidence that it is contrary to the desired effect: "Republicans are good for the economy." or "Republicans are fiscally conservative." Astoundingly they tout this as one of their mainstays when in fact they focus on deregulation that leads to self destruction, trickle down economics, and big short term gains followed by massive long term losses to name just a few tools of failure. The evidence in insurmountable, yet they continue to claim expertise on the matter.

This MBA asks: How can we, just like Joe in the movie, get the message across that reality is not what they are saying?
