Is he pretending he gets along with Dem's? cause Joe ain't a dem.
What message exactly is he trying to put out there? I just don't get it.
Is it that he likes jews and jews like him? Is joe a maverick too?

11. They like to use him and he let's them. So it amounts to the same thing.
Honestly, he'd probably be ashamed if he had any kind of moral conscience. He has to know that he's playing the role of token and they pretty much think he's a tool.

16. Thats the only thing I can think of
and I am starting to think he has been used as that over and over. When he ran with gore I honestly bought into the BS that everyone respected him so he was a great pick in spite of him being Jewish. Looking back now though I wonder if it wasn't a ploy for the Jewish vote then as well.

17. You nailed it
He thinks being with Joe show's that he's bipartisan and, as a fringe benefit, shows that he's a friend of the Jews. In this, he's 100% out of touch.

He also figures Joe will help him avoid flubs.

These two may actually be best friends. I can't think of two more chameleon-like senators.
