Yard signs...whats the over/under where you live?
I am in Kansas...

So far I have seen 8 Kerry signs just in my daily route to work (two are new today)

and NO shrub signs.

I expect to see a lot more as the weeks wear on...

1. Southern California...
...West LA:

Have not seen one Chimpy bumper sticker or yard sign. In the past month, have seen about 15 Kerry yard signs on yards and in windows and have seen a lot of Kerry bumper stickers and anti-GWB bumper stickers.

2. I have seen no yard signs at all for either candidate
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 04:54 PM by chimpsrsmarter
i've seen planty of many more Kerry bumper stickers than ones for Bush. The good news? I live in a very republican town that had tons of unabashed Bush supporters that were all too happy to display their signs of support for him, not anymore. If they are supporting * this year, they are in the closet.

On edit: I live in northern california

3. Very few signs up
in the Napa Valley, either Kerry or Bush.

I have sworn, though, if one of my old acquaintences, a dyed in the wool Republican and a frequent convention attendee, puts up another Bush sign this year, I will blast it all to hell and gone.

So far she hasn't done it. I'm hoping for a change of heart.

Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 04:56 PM by GreenArrow
KY, there are currently 2 Kerry/Edwards signs, zero Bush.

I've noticed three cars with Kerry/Edwards/ABB stickers, zero Bush/Cheney.

Just around town, Kerry/Edwards predominate by a large margin, say at least three to one. It'll be interesting to see how it changes after RNC is over.

Haven't seen many signs of any type but all of a sudden there are a BLAST of bumper stickers............ALL for Kerry and many, funny anti-bush stickers too.

For a long time, there wasn't anything showing allegiance to either candidate. Not anymore.

*Bush/Cheney for Pres. in 1984! (lol)
*Bush Lied
*Compassionate Conservatism..When Pigs Fly

10. Dateline: Peoria, IL
The count on my 2 fave routes to work is (total) Kerry 7, Shrubby 0.

It would be Kerry 8, Shrubby 0, if my damn KerryGear would get here that I ordered in June.

I am thinking that living in IL gets me put on the bottom of the shipping list, since we are a safe state, but I'd still like to plant a sign.

11. I am in OH
I see some Kerry signs, some REDEFEAT Bush signs, and some Bush-Cheney signs too.
It depends on the part of the city, I am afraid. But I don't see Nader signs where they were in a last election, so, at least that is good.

13. So far I have seen zero Bush*/Cheney signs but a lot of Kerry/Edwards
signs. also no Bush* bumper stickers but quite a few Kerry stickers. I live in a Red State also. I take this to mean that Bush* does not have the support he had in 2000 where every other yard had a Bush/Cheney sign in it. I think people are afraid that it is a demonstration of their intelligence, which it is.

15. A number of "Redefeat Bush" signs.
I've seen one Kerry yard sign, but mostly I see Kerry-Edwards bumper stickers and buttons. I see hardly hardly any Bush-Cheney bumper stickers and buttons.

There's one Bush-Cheney yard sign in a neighborhood in D.C., but it's pretty lonely, given that most of the community's yard signs are for local elections (probably all Democrats) and "Redefeat Bush."

I did see one Bush-Cheney yard sign in Delaware when I went to visit my cousin. Does that count?

16. I live in a solidly republican neighborhood
In fact it is about republican as you can get and in my daily jogs in the neighborhood I have yet to see even 1 Bush/Cheny sign or bumper sticker. This is something I have never seen before. More surprising is that I have come across a few Kerry/Edwards signs.

I get the sense BushCo has some serious problems with their base.

17. West Virginia
Yesterday (and I paid close attention, for some reason, driving around) precisely fourteen Kerry bumper stickers and eleven signs. Two Bush bumper stickers and no signs.

Three not-very-clever Jesus bumper stickers. Three Jesus fish, on the same cars as the bumper stickers. One Darwin fish.

Two peace bumper stickers. Seven flag stickers, all on pickup trucks. Six miniature flags, of which four were on the same car. None of the flag adornments were on cars with Bush stickers.

18. Well, since I have been distributing Kerry signs for months
I've seen quite a few, but overall, there are not really that many. Haven't seen a Bush sign, yet. This is in Missoula, Montana, one of the most liberal cities in Montana.

21. Milwaukee -- 4 Kerry to every 3 Bush
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 08:02 PM by tawnnhan
Citywide, it's very close, but Kerry's has an edge in my neiborhood (three Kerry signs on my street, and no Bush signs).

I'm surprised at the areas that have Bush signs vs. Kerry signs. The middle income (but white) areas have a surprising numer of Bush signs. On the other hand, the affluent suburbs have a lot of Kerry signs. For example, on a recent drive past the big mansions on Lake Drive, I counted six Kerry signs, and zero Bush signs. But down in the working class part of white Milwaukee, the beat-up jalopies have Bushit stickers on them and the yards have Bush signs. We should be doing better in the working neighborhood. I haven't seen any yard signs in the urban (mixed race) areas at all (for Bush or Kerry).

(edited spelling)

23. Portland, Ore.: Guess who's ahead?
If you guessed the Intelligent One over AWOL, you would be right by a HUGE margin. I have seen ZERO Bush yard signs. I have seen literally dozens and dozens of Kerry yard signs. It seems like every tenth car has a Kerry sticker. I could not even begin to count the number of Kerry or anti-Bush stickers I've seen recently. I have, surprisingly, seen a handful of "W '04" stickers or Bush/Cheney (sometimes I'm temporarily fooled by the Bush/Cheated or Bush/Satan or Bush/Orwell stickers, though). Sometimes I'm forced to cross city limits and enter the suburb of Beaverton (shudder), and then I am more likely to see a sticker for Dumbass. But even in Beaverton I see tons of Kerry support.
