REMEMBER We Still Do Not Have All The Bad News Hidden by the Big Banks...
Bank of America 'bought' Countrywide Mortgage rather than allow it to file bankruptcy and reveal how much BOA had loaned them.

Wachovia Bank bought Golden West Mortgage at exactly the wrong time, and there are questions about the true value of those assets today --which remain unanswered(but we do know things are bad enough to cause Wachovia to shop itself to Morgan Stanley)

ANd there has been little to no disclosure of the depth and breadth of the hedge funds which are underwater.

This bailout plan is being crafted to quietly address these matters without them being made public, which would seriously affect their stock value and possibly lead to runs on major banks that could not be met with current cash reserves.

1. The bad news comes when they have the money...
...and they say, "SUCKERS!"
