Why don't democrats push poll?
"Would your support for President Bush change if you knew he never completed a recovery process for his alcoholism?"

"Would your support for President Bush change if it was revealed he wore medals he did not earn in the National Guard?"

9. She was only 15??
This is Junior's infamous abortion from the early 70's right? How old was he at the time? Had to be over 18 if he was deserting the National Guard.

5. The ends do not justify the means
I'm personally of the belief that once you decide that ends justify the means, you've lost your sense of morality.

We can win without cheating.

12. I wouldn't want to do it first. But if they play dirty I'm willing to
I wouldn't want to do it first. But if they play dirty I'm willing to smack them down twice as hard.

6. You mean like
Kerry did to Dean in Iowa? I'd say they were pretty good at it. Would you vote for a first lady who was a Jew?

10. Kinda funny how close that question is to...
"Would you vote for a candidate with a black child?" - which is what Team BCE did to McCain in South Carolina (even though McCain's adopted child was not "black")

But of course, the DLC is nothing like Republicans.... :eyes:

7. Personaly, I don't have a problem with it, but not those questions.
It's got to be something that cut directly to the Pubs core beliefs. The alcoholism won't because they'll say that he's been a good Pres for 4 years so God must have helped him without the need to third party help.

The medal thing won't work either. They're ready to jump on Kerry's medals, but their boy has done so well, a picture from a long time ago doesn't matter.

You gotta go with something horrible (and not necessiarily true). Remember, the stories about McCain weren't true, were they?

How about There's information on the internet that George Bush paid for an abortion for a girlfriend. If that's true, how would it affect your opinion of him?

8. yep, go with the abortion story.
Belief that abortion is a sin is one of the main reasons sited by some of my repub acquaintances for not voting Kerry in Nov. But they are really unhappy with Bush. The abortion story would be just the thing to push them over the edge.

"Would your support of the Presidentchange if you knew the First Lady killed a friend with her car and the police decided not to investigate?"

13. Note, it's not a lie! There is info on the net about this....just no
proof! That's the same damn thing they did to McCain...take a piece of truth, embellish it a little, and let the voter decide! he he he

14. Really, when you think about it, smearing bush is easy.
- He used to do big huge oat bags full of cocaine.

- Shady and illegal business dealings.

- The abortion rumor.

- Trot the DUI out again for everyone who missed it the first time around.

The list goes on and on. Of course, there is no actual proof of many of these allegations, but really, once you make the allegation, it is really up to him to prove he DIDN'T do it, right? He made the rules, he should play by them.

They are going to rely on turning out the evangelical vote to counter the moderates and swings that have defected to Kerry. If the evangelicals get wind of the abortion/drugs thing, it might drive them off.

15. Drug thing they already know, and have forgiven him.
Ya gotta go with something horrible and new that they haven't heard before.

I think it's possible Rove believs the Dems would never resort to anything this nasty and isn't prepared for it.
