Err...If it were possible for McTurd to offer any kind of leadership, he could still fly to MS for a few hours to debate Obama.

4. If he was such a strong leader
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 05:33 PM by Mz Pip
he would be able to do both.

He's not showing strong leadership. He's doing a 'cut and run."

10. Talk about major Koolaid OD. A President MUST be able to multitask even with large tasks...
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 05:39 PM by WePurrsevere
It's not like they only deal with ONE major issue at a time all the time. If McCain can't manage doing the debate and deal with this issue at the same time he shouldn't be President.

IMO we need to keep hitting on this point.

Obama is now put in the situation where if he comes to DC it will appear he is following McCains lead.
McCain gave Obama a Hobson's Choice. Obama could follow McCains lead or he could be an asshole. He chose B which should not surprise anybody.

Newt on Senator McCain’s Decision to Suspend His Campaign to Forge an Agreement on the Financial Crisis:

The McCain Leadership Factor

Today john McCain showed what it meant to put country first.

He put everything on the line to try to put together a bipartisan sizable economic package to replace the failed Paulson bailout package.

This is the greatest single act of responsibility ever taken by a presidential candidate and rivals President Eisenhower saying, ‘I will go to Korea.’

Every House and Senate Republican should join him in seeking the best ideas and the best solutions from across the country.

This is the day the McCain-reform Republican Party began to truly emerge as a movement which puts country first, solutions first, and big change first.

If House and Senate Republicans can help McCain put together a three part economic package history could be made.

We need:

An economic growth component;
An energy solution; and
A work-out (not a bail-out) for the financial sector

I concure!!!

Now ,if we can only get the GOP to attack!

Obama is saying hell no, the debate is on, no suspension of the campaign, no return to Washington.

Ex. Cell. Ent.

The McCain campaign should IMMEDIATELY announce: Very well, we’re sending Sarah Palin to stand-in for McCain.

Then Obama is sincerely and truly trapped. He then must debate an adversary with a far sharper wit and more natural oratorical gifts than his own... and if, under pressure, he decides to join McCain in D.C., it will look like he’s afraid of a girl.

To: mwl8787
“By my own admission, I too am frankly and pleasantly surprised with the McCain campaign. He really wants to be elected President, and isn’t going to roll over like Bob Dole.”

Yes, you have to give him that. It’s a terrible year for the Republican presidential nominee, the MSM is in the tank for Obama, but McCain has fought hard. And he hasn’t played it safe.

To: mwl8787
"Further: McCain knows what Bush is going to say tonight. BO doesn’t."
Exactly. He'd already called the White House prior to making his statement.

15. Palin has oratorical gifts?
Perhaps they have a point: Like most Freepers, I would rather be sucked off by Sarah Palin than by Barack Obama. :-)
