OK, this is the problem.
After watching Zell Miller's rousing but insane speech, I realized that the biggest voting factor against Kerry is the block that doesn't like his stand against the Vietnam War.

Bill Clinton somehow got away without addressing this issue.

But Kerry, by promoting his Vietnam service, has brought it on.

Kerry needs to say that the Vietnam War was the most wrong war that we fought in the 20th century and explain why. And he needs to say that for very similar reasons, the Iraq war may be the worst of the 21st.

1. The people who don't like his stand against the Vietnam War won't vote
for him no matter what he says about it.

2. Yes, but...
after all these years, it is time that a respected and prominent politician explain how this country was so wrong. Nobody did that for the Spanish American War or the Mexican War or all the other little conflicts where we killed innocent people.

Admitting our sins brings us closer to God.

the entire country and then say, replace Viet Nam everytime I mentioned it with the word Iraq.

Seriously, he really needs to explain the Viet Nam stance for those voters who were too young to remember or too young to have bee around. They need to know the truth and not this propaganda that the Swiftees and Rethugs are spewing.

5. I think maybe a lot of parents have
already explained to the younger generation about Vietnam. They either were there, or their friends were and they know the story.

6. They would have dogged Kerry if did or didn't promote his service
The problem is not that Kerry promoted his Vietnam service.

If there's a problem it's that he simply isn't as gifted at Clinton at deflecting these things, or the rapid response.
