2. Yes, it looks like he's trying to run out the clock so that he can cancel Friday's debate.
This is not going to work. The Democrats chair the committees now, and I hope that they don't along with McCain's shenanigans.

15. That's exactly what I just told
my sister. His gambit wasn't working and, worse, was being mocked. He has to be seen as the savior here before he not only is considered irrelevant, but actually has to debate tomorrow.

6. I keep saying that all Obama has to do
is offer to move this debate to any other time before the election, but that it need not affect the scheduling of any of the other debates, in particular the VP debate since that one doesn't involve him and McCain.

The Obama camp needs to force McCain's hand and take the VP debate off the table.

Or offer to switch the dates between Friday's debate and the VP debate!

20. It might not go "Blue" but there will be a lot of good
press about Obama showing up when they have all that money invested, rooms books, and potential revenue from restaurants hanging in the balance from an area that really needs it.

"Ironically enough, if John McCain goes through with his threat to skip the foreign policy debate scheduled for this Friday for the sake of prolonging and complicating the ongoing negotiations over the Paulson bailout package, it may end up creating another distressed asset -- the University of Mississippi's investment in Friday's face-off. Officials from Ole Miss told ABC News today that a cancellation would be "devastating" to the University -- and that a postponement might not be possible:

Andrew Mullins, special assistant to University Chancellor Robert Khayat, told ABC News that the Ole Miss campus has been transformed to accommodate the candidates and the press. Road blocks are in place on campus and in the community and the debate television set for the candidates has already been constructed. He said the university has spent roughly five and half million dollars getting ready for the debate.

Mullins also noted that if the Commission on Presidential Debates asks the campus to hold the debate at a later date, he is not sure the university would be able to accommodate them.

"It's huge. You cannot just say that you're not going to do this thing," Mullins said. "I don't have any idea whether we do the debate" at a later date. " probably wouldn't do it."

I think McCain would stage a fake terrorist attack to avoid the debate at this point.

16. McCain wants to win at any cost. So far he's "screwn" himself .
Each time he makes a decision or opens his mouth it's a screw up. I doubt he wants to debate Obama for any reason. He says he wants debates and town hall meetings but he knows he can't hold a conversation without some of his antics being exposed. I'm sure the rovian tactics he is using will backfire on him.

Let's just get this over with John, go ahead and have the debates. You can't win; you can't speak coherently about issues and your judgment in VP's was atrocious, for that matter your VP has no grasp of the issues. Let the debates begin and prepare to get back to work in AZ.

if mccain shows up then it's because Obama took the lead. If he doesn't then Obama has the stage to himself without the uglyass liar.

And, mccain can figure out what to do next about getting his protege outta the debate with Biden.
