McCain the ultimate Maverick
McCain's obstructionist tactics is very bad for Dems. As the hours tick away, this bailout becomes more and more unpopular with the general public--potentially putting the dem controlled congress in the cross hairs. McCain is gambling again big time. Now he is going to portray himself as the ultimate populist and stop the giveaway to greedy, corrupt Wall Street bankers and lobbyists. McCain is seeking to completely recast himself and literally frame the dems, especially Obama, as in bed with corrupt bankers and lobbyists. With the public massively opposed to this bailout, this could boost McCain into the lead again as the uber maverick.

We underestimate this bastard at our peril. Swing for the fences at every at bat is his style. IT WORKS for him. In one reckless, bold stroke he not only restores his maverick status but becomes the ultimate Mr. Smith goes to Washington maverick. This style has gotten him this far and Obama needs to be very careful. He's been forced into going to Washington after he said he wasn't going to vote on the bailout. He could very well be forced into choosing supporting an unpopular bailout for the good of the country and losing the election. Or winning the election and destroying the world's banking system. Yikes.

1. Oh, everything is always bad for Obama, always bad for Dems, always a trap--
Republicans are always brilliant, McLoser is always a genius, no matter what he does. Have a little faith.

2. Not a trap doofus
I didn't say it was a trap. I said it was apparent what McCain's strategy was. I didn't say Obama didn't have a plan to combat it either.

Have a little faith? Aren't you in the wrong party? Do you have faith because all your neighbors are so pro-Obama in Nebraska?

5. The problem is that the Democrats tend to CAVE!!!
They have given in to Bush and the Republicans on many occasions.

Again, I trust Obama will my whole heart. I do not trust the Democrats, espeacially the ones who benefit politically from this bailout mess.
