Whoa. This ad just aired on Tweety, about McBush's melanoma...
McCain is 72. He's had cancer 4 times.\

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHvJPGnkQxE

John McCain is 72 and has had recurring melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.

Urge PBS' Jim Lehrer to ask McCain about his health records during Friday's debate:

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/letters.html

This debate will deal with foreign policy, and McCain's health issues constitute a national security issue, especially when you consider how his secrecy about medical records echoes the Bush administration's legacy of lies. Will McCain's health limit his capacity to make tough decisions regarding diplomacy and military action? We don't know, because McCain is keeping his medical records a tightly held secret, made available to just a handful of journalists for three hours under close supervision.

Send a quick e-mail to Jim Lehrer, moderator of Friday's debate, with the subject line: "Ask McCain to Disclose His Health Records in Full." Then, donate to Brave New PAC today so we can get this ad on the air. We have the right to have an open discussion about this grave issue, and now we have the chance to bring transparency and accountability to politics.

4. I've never seen that scar before.
Didn't know they cut him open that much to get at the cancer.

12. I had melanoma years ago and they removed a huge amount of supporting
tissue and skin -- akin to how they used to do radical mastectomies. Taking out as much as they could in hopes that they get it all before it enters the blood stream. My scar looks like Dr. Frankenstein performed the surgery.

18. Oh - you're so sweet - that's making me tear up.
But I realize now I should have said that the scar is over my heart - not on my face. I'm sorry I didn't make that clear.

Now, the scar on my throat from where they removed my thyroid, that's not so easy to cover up! :)

Thank you for your kind and loving message. Since we're almost neighbors, maybe we'll meet one can and I can show you my scars! :7

13. Doesn't quite sit right with me.
Up front: I'm a cancer survivor. I understand that people are very afraid of the C-word. Sometimes that fear manifests in really nasty ways -- I've been told that my cancer was caused by my attitude, or because I am not religious. There are people who visibly cool on interacting with me if they find out. Cancer scares people.

I agree that we should be able to see all of McCain's medical records, but this just doesn't sit right with me. We should be attacking the secrecy around his medical records (and Palin's tax records) instead of just bringing up the spectre of cancer.

14. I like it, It is supposed to make you uncomfortable. Uncomfortable about voting for him
Nobody here will consider voting for him so we see it a little differently. Consider yourself undecided, and you see that. It is a valid question. Why won't he release his medical records? Then look at his VP pick.

It is a good ad and I am all for it.

I'm not kidding.

This is brutal. Wonder if Obama will denounce it. Maybe with all the rest of the shit coming down, he won't have to.

I've seen a couple of other threads too. Seems it makes most uncomfortable here. I think given his deplorable choice of Palin, we have a right to know and discuss this serious issue.

28. This is a valid concern, especially given the inexperience (and sheer idiocy) of Palin.
I would ask the same questions of a Presidential candidate if he/she had coronary heart disease, let alone cancer. The Presidency is a stressful job (except in Bush's case), and stress can bring on disease or exacerbate an existing condition.

29. Not to knock your thread
but if this topic dominates the threads, the media will use it to distract from McCain.

On the other hand, if they bring it up it puts light on the subject.

To add to the discussion, it aired here in NY. I did pause because it's not an ad to "like" but it does make you think and is easy to remember. To that end, it is successful.
