If McCain & Republicans Torpedo Agreement, They'd Jolly Well Better Have An Alternative Plan
to deal with the Economic Meltdown.

Lord knows McCain and Bush have been using words like "panic" in reference to the debacle.

1. What facts do you have that would lead you to believe that there will be a meltdown if this bill ...
or something like it doesn't pass?

What have we been told as to actual facts about why we need to turn over this money?

It seems that the argument is that we are to simply trust the word of Wall Street types who want to give 700 billion to other Wall Street types.

4. Because there will be a stock market panic
if it doesn't. Every financial institution will look to hoard cash instead of lending and investing. Those companies--and there are a lot of them--that depend on financing to run their operations will go under.

It would be a spectacular flameout.

2. Of course they have an alternative plan.
Invisible hand, less regulation, more tax cuts for big business.

Well, I didn't say it was a good plan.

3. And that is the whole point. Americans are smart enough to understand the alternatives McCain
would want are not for the Common Good.
