Craziest...freeper conspiracy theory... ever
Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 11:53 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
The Freepers are up in arms because they think the Paulson bail-out plan includes $140 Billion with a B for...

wait for it...

ACORN

Yes, that ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
http://www.acorn.org/

They think the bail-out is an Obama conspiracy to funnel money to his sinister community organizer friends. (Bush and Paulson are hapless dupes of Obama.)

I did some canvasing for ACORN once. Guess I should have stuck with it and gotten that Golden ACORN Parachute!

Many oblique references to the ACORN conspiracy in this deranged FR thread. One clown already has a sig line about it.

all over Michelle Malkin right now. Tacking on allotments for specific groups = stupid move on dems part. We need to let this bailout die over the weekend.

10. Lindsey Graham mentioned that in all his interviews yesterday, Rush and Hannity ran with it
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 05:54 PM by Emit
actually, Rush has been repeating it all week long - that's their problem - freepers don't think!

Edit to change the subject: Lindsey Graham is who Rush quoted this morning, although he also quoted Boehner about something - but Graham was the one rambling on about ACORN.

11. Amazing. What's their theory? Is ACORN sitting on a lot of mortgage backed securities?

12. As best I can say from listening - suffering through Rush - it has to do with their claims for some
time about ACORN being tied to voter fraud. Then, and I've never even checked on this but probably will now just out of curiosity, they said Obama was employed by ACORN when he was a community organizer.

That's about all I know, other than Rush today said Lindsey Graham (it was Graham not Boehner that Rush referred to today, my mistake, but Boehner may have said something similar) said:

This is what Lindsey Graham said on Greta's show: “And this deal that's on the table now is not a very good deal. Twenty percent of the money that should go to retire debt that will be created to solve this problem winds up in a housing organization called ACORN that is an absolute ill-run enterprise, and I can't believe we would take money away from debt retirement to put it in a housing program that doesn't work.”

ACORN? ACORN
