David Gergen trashing Zell on Larry King!
He said Zell started out his career as a Lester Maddox hate type, & is ending his career with hate.

Also said Zell came close to accusing Dems of treason.

He also said speech was vetted by White House.

2. Well, as it turns out, it was vetted, uh, by, uh, George Tenet! That's it!
And he's already admitted to the President he never really looked at it.

3. Gergen is right.
Gergen is one of the few republicans that gets it right most of the time.

5. why is zell reinforcing the stereotype?
I just don't know wtf is going on. He gives Big Dawgs keynote, then trashes John Kerry.

9. That speech was vetted by the White House?
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 11:28 PM by Bozita
In a headline article early this week, the NYT reported that Dumbya is deeply involved in this campaign.

If true, we can safely assume that Dumbya had more than a quick look at Zell's speech.

At this RNC event, nothing, I repeat, nothing was spoken without the imprimatur of George W. Bush.

11. How long after 11/2 is Rove gonna say Shrub lost because he
ignored his advice?

I heard that comment about shrub being much more involved in his re-election campaign. At the time I thought...GREAT! Kerry will win for sure now!

13. Take note, fellow DUers! A good call from Alabama
Caller from Birmingham on the LK Show just asked a couple of pointed questions about Miller's performance tonight and his "future" with the Democratic party.

Gergen pointed out that Miller is retiring at the end of this term, but I couldn't resist giving props to a thinking soul from my state (there are more of us than the media would have you believe...and we are out registering voters like crazy this year!)

14. Zell "Dixiecrat" Miller
I think his speech is going to backfire on the GOP a lot like Pat Buchanan's did back in '92. They may have been cheering tonight, but they'll be crying in November!
