2004:

Bush 52
Kerry 44


2008:

Obama 49
McCain 44



Conventional wisdom says that Kerry led in the polls in 2004. But that's false.

We're 13 points better than we were exactly 4 years ago today.

In 2004, the first debate was on September 30 and that helped Kerry virtually tie with Bush. The good thing this year is that the debates could help us extend the lead.

because the polls favored (narrowly) Bush.
