I Went Canvassing For Obama & My Congressman Yesterday

in a very goddamn red area, and it wasn't too bad, in fact it was fun! I teach during the week, but I think I'll go again next weekend.
Just sayin'. I really like Obama's ads as of late. Excellent, and having them during sports games is great! (& expensive I'm sure).

I preface this by saying, this was during the Badgers and Brewers game yesterday, so I wasn't fucking around. I wanted to go when people were home. I live in Shawano County, Wisconsin. My little town is a Democratic island. I went by myself, but a veteran canvasser came along with me after all. We went for about two hours. More repukes than Dems, and some surprises. On plder guy looked like he got up and sat down when we came to the door. I thought, "Oh oh, guess we can check off repuke in the list." But then he got up and said he was supporting my congressman (Kagen) and Obama. He took the literature happily, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm going again next Saturday. I'll see if Mom will come with me. But I have to be honest, she supported Hillary in the primaries, so I'm not sure. She's a good Democrat, and knows that several Supreme Court appointments are coming the next term,
but like me, it will probably come slowly.
I had a nice talk with the Obama field representative. He wanted to know, as a Hillary supporter who is now an Obama supporter,
what it took for me to go with Obama, and what my issues were with Obama. A very interesting and pleasant conversation. More to come I'm sure.
