http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/09/no_winners_or_losers.htmlFox News column, no surprise you may say, states the debate was a draw... The key points of this great piece of analysis include (her quotes in "" my note in brackets) Its all fun stuff:
1) It was boring... (I could not think of anything more riveting... perhaps she was watching a rerun of Dallas or something?)
2) "if you’re for McCain, you can point to his strong performance in the last hour of the debate, his mastery of foreign policy"... (that mastery would include repeating 'what Senator Obama doesn't understand' and his repeated suggestions that the only way the US can be powerful and influential is by the threat of military action and of course a reversion to Bush-style you're wish us/against us dichotomy.)
3) Obama's main achievement was apparently looking into the camera. (Minimal mention of crushing over the economy nor Obama's much more subtle/intelligent grasp of the world.)
4) No mention of McCain's inability to look at Obama throughout.
5) "So where does this leave the Presidential race?... It may be trending in Obama’s direction..." (I guess she didn't even manage to look at the Fox News/Rasmussen polling!)
6) "it may be that McCain has stopped the slide, by going back to Washington and proving his muscle, by demonstrating that he was putting country first"... (I think I must have been sick that day.)
7) "Stay tuned. Boring debates make for more exciting elections. And vice versa." (The coup de grace I think, is it really true, does that mean that exciting debates lead to boring elections?"
Anyway, cheers
