Who gets choice of weapons in the Matthews-Miller Duel?

I believe that the rules of dueling stipulate that the person being challenged to a duel gets to choose the weapons. Someone correct me on that if I am wrong.

So Matthews should accept the challenge and for his choice of weapons -- how about logic?

traditional duelling etiquette--

When a dispute arises between two clans, or two clan members, the way to heal their injured honour is through a duel. Duels are traditionally extended by a slap across the face with a glove or gauntlet and dropping it at their feet. By picking up the gauntlet or glove, you accept the duel. One must be warned that challenging someone of lower or higher rank than yourself is a social faux pas.

When the challenge is accepted, a Second is chosen. Your Second is usually a kinsman, but always someone you trust. The Seconds discuss the principals of the duel, as the duellists can't talk to each other afterwards. The challenged chooses a weapon, the honourable choices being duelling rapiers or pistols (other weapons, such as heavy artillery, aren't.) The Challenger chooses the place, and the Challenged chooses which Disciplines of the Blood (as in, will the duel end at the drawing of blood or the death of one or both duellists) will be used during the duel, all of this information conveyed through the Seconds. The Seconds will then watch the duel to make sure that fair play is used.
