According to Freepers, Obama is only doing well on Gallup because Thursday was irregular.

Apparently he polled nearly 20 points ahead the one day and then was roughly even with McLame the other days. Either way, he's getting crushed on every other tracking poll (+7 on Hotline!!!) and every national poll.,

7. Exactly...

Unlike the others, dKos/R2K publishes their daily totals as well as the running average. Thursday was not an especially big day. In fact, I believe yesterday was bigger.

8. Actually, Thursday was a very good polling day for Obama.

He turned a tie into a +3 in one day. (Though it couldn't have been +20, or he would have turned a tie into + 6 or more). It will drop off tomorrow the 3 day average, so Obama may go down in the Gallup tracker. But if Obama's gain in the polls as of now is more than temporary (and I think it will be more lasting), he will probably only fall to 7 or 6 tomorrow (or maybe not at all).
