I saw the most McSame-Palin bumper stickers I've seen this whole election
..and, no, I'm not viewing this as a sudden new uptick in popularity. However, the local office must be getting the goodies out to the faithful.

Today I saw 5 MsSame/Palin stickers and no Obama stickers (I'm not counting my Obama magnet). I note this because I'd seen McSame stickers, but not the McSame/Palin stickers until Thursday.

This leads me to a bone I have to pick. I've seen the Obama Change circles (what I have) and Obama '08, but I've yet to see an Obama-Biden sticker. Yard signs, I've seen -- but not bumper stickers. I ordered mine right after the convention from the Obama web-site, and I still don't have it. I have a long ride through South Dakota on I-90 October 6th -- there are gun toting truck drivers I need to piss off. I really hope my Obama-Biden magnet shows up this week.

1. The same thing here
in Southside Virginia.

I conducted a memorial service on Saturday and afterward several attendees were discussing the local Repub. HQ getting yard signs and larger road signs - asking around to see who had frontage on main roads where they could be placed.

I'm still waiting on my backordered Obama sign from DemocraticStuff. Dang it.

20. email them and remind them that you are waiting for your
Obama sign. My daughter was suppose to get a t-shirt for donating and did not get it. She finally emailed the Obama people and she had her t-shirt in about three days. She just got her magnetic Obama/Biden sticker yesterday, and she had waited for about two weeks for it. It was from Obama.com.

2. I'm supposed to be getting the Obama-Biden kit for donating.
Still waiting on that. I hope it comes soon :( We have the Vote for Change magnet on the car, and the regular Obama 08 yard sign and rally sign in the house window.

3. Does the campaign followup with shipping information at all?
I haven't ordered one because I'm in Beatrice and don't want any trouble. :)

5. A few things
First, hello fellow Nebraskan (I'm assuming you mean the Beatrice in Nebraska)

Second -- if you don't want trouble, get the magnet. I have to use my vehicle for my job, but I work for a company that is legally politically neutral, so I go stickerless during work trips. After my work-related visits are done, on goes the Obama magnet.

Third - I never received a follow up. I did get a follow up from moveon on my free sticker; it shipped today.

9. Hi! Yep, in Beatrice, just moved here from michigan in July..
I will get the magnet. That's a great idea. My family is probably 3 of the 10 blacks here so I didn't want any extra attention! I will get the magnet!

11. Welcome!
I came from South Florida 2 years ago. I gather you noticed that it is a tad homogeneous here in the Cornhusker State. However, the people seem really decent. Even my two old-guy republican neighbors don't look at me cross eyed. That said, my wife doesn't want to put yard signs up because that created issues in Florida during 2004.

19. Homogenous? You haven't been to the cities, have you?
Go to Omaha, Lincoln, and Grand Island. Or go to Lexington, where the Hispanics outnumber the Caucasians. ;)

26. I'll agree on Lexington, Sioux City, and parts of Omaha. Out here in the west end of town...

.. it's pretty fair skinned.

You make an interesting point, though. The small towns with slaughter facilities are becoming principally Hispanic

In the interest of full disclosure, my family is white. However, I grew up between Baltimore and Washington, went to college in the California bay area, and lived 20 years outside Ft. Lauderdale. Compared to those towns, Omaha doesn't seem too diverse, but it's positively cosmopolitan compared with places like Kearney or Beatrice.

22. I feel your pain.
We are a bit more diverse here, but my daughter lives in fear of her magnetic sticker being on her car. Especially when she is driving it. She had it on the other day while the car was parked in the Best Buy parking lot and it became dented in the half hour we were there. The RWers are really fanatic here, and if you are a minority, it is even worse.

7. Sticker not (yet) received here
No magnet yet either. I ordered mine before the convention and every day I check the mail hoping and wishing that it arrived. I'm starting to feel like Charlie Brown in the Great Pumpkin special..."I got a rock." Hopefully we'll all have our stickers, magnets and signs so we can recognize one another on the roads and highways (friendly beep-beeps).

10. Curious: Couldnt one use a Color laser printer to print out a High-Qual..
Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 12:07 AM by quantass
pic of the Obama/Biden sticker (many copies online) and stick it to your car. I know ideally one wants the REAL sticker but in the mean time waiting for it to arrive in the mail why not just print your own professional version..

Consider this: It will take only 1 hours time initially (assuming if that is necessary) to set up the image in Photoshop (or equiv), and then you can just transfer the results via internet to your local print-shop such as FedEx-Kinkos or Staples online from your computer and have them print it out on their massively professional printers and varied paper types for total cost of $0.05 per color page (that is what it costs here in Canada so it might be less in the U.S). Pick up time is less than 1 hour.

That's what i'd do so i can begin pissing truckers off right away.

15. Just in case...here's a Site to convert Image art into Printable high-res Vector Art:
I'm sure you already know this, but on Obama's site i notice he posts vector pdf files of his logos (zipped)...being in vector art one could print any sized high-res formats of any of his logos flawlessly. However, if you have a bitmap image (e.g. jpg, bmp, pcx) of a logo you want to make much larger you can always turn it into vector art easily using this site:

Vector Magic: http://vectormagic.com/

I know its extra work to get something like this done but considering as how there is that backlog of delayed orders maybe its worth it.

Edit: My apologies in advance to the hunters with pickups who are voting Obama. I know there are some of you out there. If one of you deer hunters is out there and happens to read this, what is your opinion of the Remmington Model 870 tactical shotgun?

21. I saw a bunch at a wedding last weekend...
After we played for the ceremony, I went back to my car, and found the parking lot filled with giganto gas-guzzling monster trucks that all had McAsshole stickers on them. I guess there were around 10 trucks in all, but they used up so much space...

23. SUVs and Pickup sure love mccain it seems.
But then the owner of the area pizza shop has a sports car with a "car racers love mccain' sticker on it. I knew there was a reason I preferred Dominoes.

25. Oh yes.
1 Suburban, 1 was on a Lincoln/Grand Marquis thing, and IIRC, the other 3 I saw were on pickups. One had a "marathoner" sticker next to the McSame sticker, prompting me to think that if he/she likes breathing while running, he/she really ought to know better.
