14 Dems have to change their votes in the next few moments
Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 12:54 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
The voting will be held open for a while (like the Bush medicaid bill was)

14 Dems have to change their votes.

The market is rebounding right now because they figured out the vote is still open and are hoping for a turn-around.

(This debacle is largely Pelosi's fault, BTW. She really needs to be replaced.)

32. I think that they are heroes.
This bill should not pass unless Republicans vote for it. This is their messy arse the taxpayers are having to clean, caused because of their policies. It is not up to the Democratic Party to bail out an unpopular Republican President.

13. Isn't Pelosi more likely to be able to twist a Democrat;'s arm than a Republican's?
Somebody has to change their votes--she's got mroe leverage with people in her own party, presumably.

6. Pelosi needs to resign from her leadership position!
She is a loser.

She should never have allowed this to come to a vote without having enough Republicans committed and on record saying they would vote for it.

8. Why, why, why on earth are Democrats supporting a bill brought by Bushco
when the Republicans themselves will not support it???? If they hold this vote open to arm twist members to change their votes I can officially say that I am ashamed to be a Democrat.

12. This is NOT the same bill at all. You need to read the 2-1/2 page
bill that Bushco sent them and then read the actual bill that's being voted on.

28. I KNOW that, but at it's heart it is still a $700 billion bailout bill.
That is how the American public views this in case you have not noticed.
This bill essentially came from Bushco and Republicans will not support it, but Democrats do?
If Democrats twist arms to pass the bill, they will own it and will reap what they have sown.

10. Alternatively she has the Democrate votes in her pocket and she
is showing how weak the Republicans are and paint them in a corner, and have Democrats save the day in the final inning.

Maybe she knew that the Republicans didn't have the votes anyway.

(Personally I would rather change Reid first but they are both second rate)
