6. You found one that I didn't find then.. I saw zilch ! They are going to be sooo sorry, not for
voting against the bill, but once again, for pulling a STUNT !! Trying to say "We got our little feelers hurt, so we're taking our ball and going home."

The Era of Republicanism and all it represents, is over.

24. Her actual remarks do not entirely match the "as prepared for delivery" version
There is an article on Politico: Did Pelosi's ad lib doom the deal?

19. No actually, there were enough Republican votes. They CHANGED their minds before the vote.

22. That's not the point. It was supposed to be (and should have been) BI-PARTISAN.
As it was the majority of Yes votes were from Democrats.

25. YES, it is the point. Only 30 dem's had to vote AYE and it would have passed
you can spin it all the f'k you want, but that is what it is.

26. Well, gee, maybe it's because they were pressured to pull out all the protections for individuals
to protect them from foreclosures and such... you know, the kind of things that democrats would object to. Even after pulling all that out, there weren't enough republicans to vote for it.

So, yes, I'll spin it all the fuck I want, but you can't get everyone on the left (like Kucinich who voted against it) to agree to this when there is NO protection of the little people. Therefore, they needed to get the Republicans.

Period.

11. Pure partisan politics.
Cheap excuse. If they really were offended by what Pelosi said they could have still voted in the best interest of the country and then say Pelosi was just blowing smoke, that the real cause of the problem was not Bushco at all but rather _____________________________________ and they did the right thing despite Pelosi.

15. It contained one refference to the Republicans, and thanked them for their bi-partisanship.
What they claim to be all offended by in some statement out "bad economic policies" from George Bush. Basically, they got all offended by some Bush bashing, which is hardly a liability these days.

23. This text does not include her "ad libs"
For example, here is a sample of Pelosi's actual remarks:

"... Democrats believe in a free market ... but in this case, in its unbridled form as encouraged, supported by the Republicans — some in the Republican Party, not all — it has created not jobs, not capital, it has created chaos."

Contrast that statement with the "as prepared for delivery" version:

Democrats believe in the free market, which can and does create jobs, wealth, and capital, but left to its own devices it has created chaos.

More of the differences can be seen here: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/14089.html

Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 08:31 PM by TankLV
it PROVES how utterly CORRUPT and NEGLIGENT their REPUKE policies have been.

Period.

It SHOULD NOT ever "demand" an apology from ANY Democrat.

And no Democrat better even HINT at one.

FULL SPEED AHEAD!!!

DAMN THE TORPEDOS!!!

and after all the CRAP - CRAP - the repukes said about us Democrats ALL THESE YEARS - they are somehow NOW "offended"!!!

WE'RE the ones who should be offended - and justifiably SO!!!
