Even my ex... says Obama's 'name bothers her'. WTF? ...
I just talked to her on the phone last night, and she said she was going to vote for him - has only voted Dem. since I educated her a long time ago :^) - but that she wasn't very excited about him, and that 'his name bothers me... "Barack Obama" being our president, and what that name stands for'... hah? I was really surprised... almost speechless... even though she said she was going to vote for him. Maybe her Repub. parents, esp. her mother, infected her brain more than I'd thought. (Her mother once told me, when she found out I was voting for the evil ghastly Clinton, that 'there's just something in his eyes' she didn't like... yeah, it's INTELLIGENCE, LADY! :^)

1. She'd better get used to presidents with "funny names"
I would expect that she will see, if she lives long enough, President Gonzales, or perhaps even President Yang, within the next century.

She may not like it but that's the way the demographics point.

2. I'm up for having a list of different ethnic candidate. We can cross off "African American",
now, let's see, how about a Buddhist in 2012? A Hindu in 2020?

How about an agnostic?

4. What does "Jones" stand for? Or Smith?
Or McCain? The disturbing thing is she is FAR from alone, there are a lot of people with such misgivings.
And I can relate- even if Busch beer wasn't crap, I'd never drink it now.:sarcasm: (a bit)
