Sarah Palin and The New Yorker: 'I Can See Russia From My House'

It remains to be seen whether Sarah Palin is beyond satire, though one could make a very good argument, particularly post the Katie Couric interiviews, that the Alaskan Governor actually needs no assistance to cast herself (or is it rear her head) in the worst possible light. For the time being, The New Yorker appears to think it enough to take her words literally.

Anchorage is 102 ft above sea level. (12.4 miles)
Anchorage to Diomede is 662 miles.

Juneau is 56 ft above sea level. (9.2 miles)
Juneau to Diomede is 1212 miles.

Diomede on Little Diomede Island is 0 ft above sea level.

Big Diomede Island is 2.4 miles from Little Diomedd Island.
