Okay, so I don't exactly love the bailout, but I needed a catchy title to point to this:
TechDirtIt's the best, most concise, levelheaded analysis I've seen about the current crisis and potential solutions. I thought some others might feel, as I did, that all we're getting in here today is "You Suck Because You Oppose The Bailout!" and "You Suck Because You Support The Bailout!" threads and posts going back and forth and not telling us anything.
I should point out that I'm still uncertain about the bailout, and I honestly think that's the most honest policy. This thing is too big and too complicated for ANYONE to say with more than about 60 percent certainty what the effects will be one way or the other.
It's pretty clear that something needs to happen. What isn't clear is that a package based on the Bush administration's power-grabbing, $700 billion bailout is the only answer.
