After the shittiest of months, MY OBAMA YARDSIGN ARRIVED!
One of our beloved cats died, another is dying. My business did its worst numbers in HISTORY. This morning , I awoke to a gift from the Gods. I am juiced, people, JUICED! Elections & lives turn on moments like this!

2. I know how you feel... I just wrote my weekly newspaper column about that
Check it out:

(by the way, we ordered ourObama/Biden signs weeks ago -- still waiting! But the plain old Obama sign is still out there in the front yard until they arrive).

3. Today marks 4 weeks so far... two weeks later than estimated.
Where's my damn sign!?

Not that it matters much now, we gave up and found the closest Obama support center and bought a couple.

I honestly didn't know you had to PAY for a sign. Mine came wrapped in swaddling clothes! Must be all the donations to The Democratic party we've made over the years.

4. Excellent,flowomo
We still have a McGovern for Iowa sign! After the victory in a month, Obama - Biden will be a collectors item. Great piece. If you writing more commentary about the election , in the coming weeks, please post. I think I speak for others, in that, we all like to read opinions from around the country. Especially from my old state, flowomo. Bucks County! Thanks, again!

22. I post most of my columns here....
They usually get zero responses (as did this one). But I keep plugging away. Thank you for reading it and for the kind words about it.

10. Thank you, mscuedawg!
Our beloved Boogie. No keeping him confined. He'd tear out our screens. He LOVED his ride home on his dad shoulders at night. My wife found him in the street. A trucker held up traffic while she picked him up then scrubbed his blood off the pavement. I'm thankful, I only have my last memory of him. Carrying him in, Sunday night.

15. Oh how very sad!!!!
The story of the trucker made me cry... It sounds like Boogie had a wonderful set of "parents" with you and your wife. These animals...they just crawl in our hearts, dont they??? :) We have a 4 y/o half black lab half rottweiler...all big baby (my 115 lb lapdog) who is in the beginning stages of hip dysplasia...so my heart goes out to you...

17. To make it more incredibly poignant, mscuedawg
My wife ran into the trucker at our supermarket(he delivers dairy products) and they both were crying. He gave her a much-needed hug. Sorry for burdening you with this. a little catharsis, perhaps..no pun intended. I wish you and your rottweiler the best.

18. Wow...I just went and hugged my pup...
That is incredible that your wife was "reunited" w/the truck driver...that truly is divine intervention, fate, whatever you call it! I'm honored that you chose me to tell this story to...it warmed my heart on what started to be a gray and dreary day here in Ohio....but now, the sun is shining!!! :loveya:

9. Sorry about your cats, Condem
My wife and I lost our beloved cat a little over a year ago. It was the toughest thing to go through when we had no other choice but to have our vet put her down with us standing there holding onto our cat as he did it. I never want to have to do something like that again, such feelings of guilt at the time even though it was the only humane thing to do because our cat was suffering so much at the time. My wife is still not over losing her.

Congrats on your sign. There was a string of Repuke signs at the entrance to a road that leads into a place where we often drive, and finally someone put an Obama sign next to the McCain sign. Unfortunately, the Obama sign only lasted a couple days, while the McCain sign has been there for at least a month. Well, thanks to me, the McCain sign is no longer there either. An eye for an eye. I did get some kind of clear grease all over my hands, though, when I grabbed the metal legs to pull it out of the ground. A small price to pay, hehe.

11. mountain, thank you.
We've had 21 cats at one time. We're a volunteer shelter for the wayward & special needs. I, too, have held at least five of them in the past 5 years, while they were put to sleep. Incredible sorrow yet at peace. If only humans could go like this. No suffering. They are truly family. Tonka probably won't make the next week, but he's 20, so he's going to go how he wants to!
