right below McCain is Mckinney. Cali folks if you didn't get it yet it should be there soon along with the 143 page voters guide.

12. No shit, the old George Wallace racist party?
I guess it's an even trade. Move up one rung for no longer being racist.

Move down one rung for trading in George Wallace for God's Angry Babysitter.

8. CA uses several different forms of ballots
And mixes the orders then distributes randomly.

Note that OP is dealing with a sample ballot only.

We are awaiting our vote by mail ballots.

16. A Dungeon Master just makes it up.
We have one for each state, tucked away in little shacks and rarely used broom closets, and once every 4 years a piece of paper slides under the door and gets delivered to the Secretary of State, who then consults an Oracle, some tea leaves, a Ouija board, and a guy named Doug who runs the little market down the street.

You should have seen it before the reforms!

10. Ballot Order
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 02:01 PM by Scribe
Some States decide the order by lottery or chance. In NY State, the order is determined by the finish in the last Gubernatorial election. When Pataki was in office, the GOP was first on the ballot. After Spitzer's win in 2006, the Dems took the top ballot position. In addition, a political party must get 50,000 votes as a minimum to qualify for automatic ballot position. Otherwise, a difficult and costly statewide petition process is required to get on the ballot.
