he should be ashamed. It's as if he can't take the fact that Obama may actually win this thing while leaving McSame in the dust.

Shame on him:puke:

2. I don't think that's the case with Matthews. I think that's really the only thing left for McCain
I mean at this point unless they can unearth videotape of Obama doing something horrible wrong like sacrificing Babies, Virgins and Kittens to the Flying Spaghetti monster or something just awful, McCain has got NOTHING left. And I'll be honest, I won't be surprised when McCain uses it. He's a desperate man and if he can't keep within a few points of Obama he can't steal this election.

3. McCain will certainly do this
but so much of that was played months ago. Obama is Black. It's old news. People have gotten used to the idea.

So good luck with that one.

6. I saw the local (Reading PA) news tonight - 2 polls -
Obama leading in PA by 7 points, and Obama leading in PA by 15 points.

I think McCain is going down fast, with Palin as an anchor.

4. The race card won't work this year, though the Repukes love to play it.
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 06:50 PM by AllieB
The economy trumps everything this year, and racists would never vote for an African-American anyway. It was a stupid point on Tweety's part and would be a stupid strategy.

5. I don't think he's begging McCain to do it.
I think he's stating this may be his only card left.

9. How could McCain play the race card and have it benefit him?
He already as the racist vote tied up...they're not going to Obama. So, all it could do is hurt McCain. Ask Don Imus.

14. I don't think it would benefit him.
But it might be the only other option. Obviously the status quo isn't working.

7. I saw it earlier wanpete
and I didn't take it that way. He was ASKING Chuck Todd what HE thinks the McCain campaign has left to try-like dragging out the old Rev Wright tapes and/or the race card. Matthews is an Obama supporter-he's all but come right out and said it. This is an election where a lot of us older folks are voting in the best interest of our children and grandchildren. I think Chris falls under that category...

10. I saw almost every pundit today saying or asking if McCain has to go negative-
with Wright, more Ayers, etc. Most people said he HAS to. Some Dems. said it wouldn't work this year, though. It's as if the media is giving McCain tips on how to try to come back and win it. :eyes:

routing for McInsane and hoping his poll numbers will go up give it a rest? McInsane is not a well man.

13. I don't think you understand Matthews... of course he sometimes makes it hard to.
He makes a lot of gaffes... but if you look at his behavior over time, he is definately an Obama supporter. He said what he said as an analyst, and that analysis is that playing racial politics is all that McCain has left. Chris Matthews is one of those guys that can often make a good point, but fail at making the point in a good way.

15. I know he supports Obama and actually mistakingly almost admitted that he voted for him in the
primary...However, he was almost daring Mcsame to "go there". And even though Matthews supports Obama, he still makes some statements that could be considered very offensive to people of color. He constantly references hard-working Americans (White Americans), as if others of color are not "hard working", and how Obama can't connect.

I know he wants a nail-biting horse race. This just may not be the year for that type of election.
