My advice to reporters covering McCain
Follow the example of the Des Moines Register editorial board's questioning of McCain. They asked tough pointed questions. McCain was testy, defensive, irritable, dismissive, and was obviously trying to intimidate the board. If they had prodded him a bit more, he would have blown up.

GOOD! Keep asking tough pointed questions. More people need to see how he loses his cool over perfectly valid questions.

Temperament IS a very major issue. We need someone who can remain cool, collected and thoughtful under great pressure.

Good work, Des Moines Register! :applause:

2. I'd say, be ready to duck
When he blows, it's going to be ugly. And it might be good to stay out of his way.

Yeah, he's on the edge.

4. if i were a reporter, I'd want to be in the line of fire
If McCain lost it over valid reasonable questions I had posed to him as a reporter, I know I've done my job.

People need to see him for who he really is ....

6. I want to see him pushed to the point of a meltdown, then still keep at it.
Make 'em lead McCain away in a straight-jacket.
