Moderate Republicans spinning towards Obama...
Just picked this up in a comments page on Kos, an example of things we're seeing more and more; more good news and more reason to keep up the work:

"A lot has changed since 2004...

I voted for Bush "our moron-in-chief" 2 times but he has tarnished the Republican brand for at least 1 generation. The GOP base nowadays is full of only the war-mongering Neo-cons, the religious right, and lunatic fringe type people.

I have been a Moderate Republican all my life and I am sick to death of what Bush Co. and the Neo-Cons have done to our country. The Neo-Cons hijacked the Republican Party, and McCain (who won the Rep Primary because of Moderate Reps and Indies) has become a Neo-Con since then. Palin is Exhibit #1 of that. McCain's policies (and his flipping on many items since the Primary) is Exhibit #2. The economic crisis we face and his poor leadership in it is Exhibit #3. His lies and slanders in this GE is Exhibit #4.

Make no mistake about it, this election is so-o-o-o-o different from 2004, and Obama is so-o-o-o-o much better as a candidate than Kerry. I think he learned from the failed Kerry campaign to shut down all lies spewed by the "lying piece of crap party" (my not-so affectionate term for the current Republican Party) quickly before they could take hold.

I think Obama will get at least 315 electoral votes ...and I have been praying for this too. I have complete faith that God is directing the steps in this election and that Obama is supposed to be the next POTUS (so that he can try to fix some, hopefully all, of the mistakes that GW Bush has made and give us real vision and leadership as a struggling nation).

1. Yeah when the Obamicons first started coming out, the McCain camp tried a lame Dems for McCain thing
but it quickly got exposed for the farce that it really was. They might have had some success with the straggling PUMAs but then McCain got the boneheaded idea of selecting Sarah Palin and thinking that it was genius for both exciting his base and pandering to the PUMAs. Yeah, look how well that worked out.

All the "prominent" Democrats that McCain has supposedly flipped are figures that are easily ridiculed (Lady de Rothchild) while Obama has some serious heavy hitters in the Republican tradition who have very obviously been left behind in the extremist wake that has been the Republican party of the 21st century (Susan Eisenhower, Lincoln Chafee, Jim Leach, etc).

So yeah, here's hoping that the bipartisan support for Obama will make for an Obama landslide victory!

2. I knew the constant lying would bother moral people.
We all lie (little white lies included) on occasion whatever the reason, but the personal nature of McCain's lies are so over the top that it has to bother a person with a conscience.

I figured when Repubicans started pushing moderate North Eastern Republicans out of the party that their brand would die. The nation is growing in different ethnic and cultural ways. How long can they be a party of Dixiecrats and survive in this expanding nation?
