Their map even has TEXAS as WEAK GOP now! The last time he was close to this far ahead was June 16th when he was up by 150, so now he's even farther ahead then that.

Oct. 2nd, 2008

Obama 338 / McCain 185

3. That is one sweet map.
Florida is in play, and North Carolina, Missouri, and formerly dark red Indiana! Please let it be so! There is no way the McCain campaign is prepared to defend these states that they presumed were theirs. The haven't got the ground game in place and it's too late now.

8. And don't forget, we load up in the House and Senate too
We will have a solid majority in the House that allows us to pass our bills without any GOP support. The only lever the GOP will have is the Senate where they can block things if we don't get 60 seats.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, we could have 8 years to clean out the judiciary, and during that 8 years, there could be 5 SCOTUS appointments. Unfortunately the worst ones are (actuarially speaking) likely to remain even 8 years from now. But we should have an opportunity to put some solid progressive minds on the court, who could be there 25 years.

This election is huge.
