She wouldn't allow David Gergen (sp?) to complete his assessment of Zell Miller in terms of DG having grown up in the south. DG understood how close to the edge Zell came to calling the Dem part a treasonous Party and this was not acceptable as a proper keynote speech. Laura couldn't seem to copntrol her impulse to butt in and Tweety told her several times to allow DG to complete his thought. She was pissed but tried to smile her way through. Behind them, the crowd would cheer David and boo Laura.

When Matthews was on Bill Maher last week, he sure lead us to believe he was voting for Kerry by his remarks about undecideds. Saying all negatives about shrub, and all positives about Kerry, then ending it with what's to be undecided about?

when Ingraham refused to stop interrupting. That was after he told Ingraham to "let him finish", referring to Ingraham's constant interrupting of Gergen before he could make his point about Zell having become hateful. I assume Matthews would have thrown her off the set if she hadn't stopped at that point.

She said that Zell Miller is not a man of hate because he served the state of Georgia. Are the two necessarily incompatible? According to her logic they are.

Then after David Gergen carefully stated why he didn't feel Zell Miller was a segregationist, she then accused Gergen of accusing him of being a segregationist.

These people are genuinely psychotic and the mere thought this election could go against them is throwing them into another dimension.

People like Ingaraham only function when they aren't opposed. They simply can't have a rational discussion with someone with a differing viewpoint.

Ya know...At first I was offended people like Savage got his own tv show, but now I think its a great idea...put these idiots out there and let them shoot themselves.

I have mentioned on these boards that I thought the Reps would do a 1992 redux...ala "Culture War".

While they really have not done that per se', they have eclipsed even my hopes and dreams of incongruous absurdity. Between the hate-fest last night, the exploitation of 9/11 dead Monday, the sadness of the Twins on Tuesday complete with Arnold's "Nuremburg" impersonation...COMBINED with the total meltdowns we are privvy to during each interview over the past 2 days I would say our campaign is right on target.

to piss off Gergen and even Fineman started to roll his eyes at her and like wash his hands of her and of course, Ron Reagan was disgusted. It means, Dear Laura, that after Bush's speech when they come back to these guys, you so insulted them and made them mad that they just might not be telling US who wonderful it was. Now, I think Gergen (who is very fair and intelligent about things) is primed to rip. It's a classic case of the animals going to far. It's this shit that Kerry and Edwards should showcase and say "these freaks are out of control folks".

The smear vets angered Gergen last week on Matthews' show. Gergen is a moderate Republican. His contempt for these tactics reflects the contempt that many moderate Americans are feeling, IF they are paying attention and not getting their news in Fox and CNN soundbites (big IF).
