McCAIN PULLING OUT OF MICHIGAN!!!
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 01:33 PM by IWantAnyDem
:woohoo:

McCain pulling out of Michigan

John McCain is pulling out of Michigan, according to two Republicans, a stunning move a month away from Election Day that indicates the difficulty Republicans are having in finding blue states to put in play.

McCain will go off TV in Michigan, stop dropping mail there and send most of his staff to more competitive states, including Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida. Wisconsin went for Kerry in 2004, Ohio and Florida for Bush.

McCain's campaign didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

2. Wisconsin!

G'luck.

They're fighting for Ohio and Florida, which means they're in deep doo doo.

Obama closed out Michigan today. Probably closed out Wisconsin yesterday.

Expect to see Obama in Ohio 8-10 times between Columbus Day and Election Day.

That's not a good signal for them if they have to pour money into Indiana and pull out of Michigan!! Woohoo!

34. This late in the game? Just now opening up?
True, his offices are quite sparse up here. I just thought the big hole in VA. was because he's an idiot, or he knows it will be stolen so he's not trying hard!

11. It's ON. Barack, Joe and Michelle can all hit the road and run him ragged
because McCain and Palin can't seem to campaign apart (she doesn't know what she's talking about without a script, and crowds don't turn out when McCain goes solo).

Add the Obama ground game and run them into the ground.

28. GREAT!!!!!!!!
I knew Michigan would become a stronger Obama state the closer we got to the election. I know tons of people were so worried about Michigan but I just knew my state wouldn't go to McCain. The problem for McCain is I don't see Wisconsin or Pennsylvania switching to him either. So I guess his goal to keep all the Bush states.

32. Did Obama invest a lot there?
McCain really wanted Michigan. Winning Michigan was a central part of McCain's strategy. He has been advertising here so much. McCain has also been here many, many times. I'm not sure how much time/money Obama spent in Georgia...hopefully not too much.

33. This is great. If the dynamics continue to shift in Obama's favor
And they are forced to pull resources out of what was once battle ground states, into what was once reliable GOP, as they become the new battle ground.. then I'd think it safe to say we've won before the first vote is even cast.
