That Time Again! What Cheesy Prop Will McCain Use On Tuesday's Townhall?
Edited on Sat Oct-04-08 11:58 AM by Median Democrat
We asked this question before the first debate, and some people correctly guessed the bracelet. Well, its that time again. McCain is apparently looking forward to this townhall, because it lets him connect emotionally with members of the audience as he regales them with POW stories, and how he is a Maverick. So, what will be the McCain stunt of the town hall?

Over the last few weeks, Obama has built a sizable national poll lead, the polling average puts him 5.7 percent ahead, and moved into a lead in most of the key battleground states. McCain needs a game-changer. As one McCain aide told the Washington Post, “There's no question that we have to change the subject here".

McCain’s next best chance to change the dynamics of this race comes on Tuesday in the second presidential debate. The debate is a town hall—McCain’s best format—and considering that almost 70 million watched the Palin-Biden debate we can expect a huge audience. But considering the size of Obama’s lead and the fact it seems to be hardening, even a points-victory would not be enough for McCain. He has to produce a performance that both makes voters take a second-look at him and raises questions about Obama. If he doesn’t, Obama will be able to run out the campaign clock as the last debate is solely on domestic policy, a weakness for McCain.

2. Maybe he won't use a prop
The bracelet sure backfired on him last time. Really, he's in a terrible position. Attack Obama more fiercely and he'll alienate the middle again. Don't attack him and Obama remains ahead.

McCain's only winning strategy is to out-positive Obama and propose real solutions to the economic crisis. But he can't, because he doesn't have any.

4. He'll be holding Sarah Palin's baby -
not that a baby is 'cheesy', but Sarah seems to enjoy using her children as props when it suits.

5. His dog tags?
I can't wait for this debate. Obama is so natural and graceful when moving across the stage. McCain moves like Frankenstein.

6. McCain will bring up all of Obama's past "relationships"
with Wright, Rezko and Ayers. His campaign will start bringing up all the sleaze they can muster.
