One of the many reasons NC will be BLUE
Obama now has 44 campaign offices here in NC to McCain's 9.
But it's worse than that for McCain. Here's one of the few events listed on his website for Eastern NC

Thursday, October 30, 2008
7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
fayetteville, NC

Let's get together for John McCain's first national event day and start getting organized for the election. Please come to my event to talk about John McCain's agenda for America and to discuss what we can do to help him win. As the election is only a few months away, this event will focus on making sure every McCain supporter is registered to vote. John McCain consistently puts his country before his political interests and is committed to addressing the tough issues America cares about most. Please join us for this important and fun event!

7. I read an article somewhere that McCain's internal polling has him up by "a lot" in NC
Edited on Sat Oct-04-08 04:38 PM by dontforgetpoland
and doesn't think Obama has much chance here and therefore doesn't need to spend much resources there. They believe all those Public polling are "way off". Also in the article, McCain staff said their internal polling also have him up by 7% in FL as well.

10. It's from McCain internal polling that they have not released, not from public pollsters.

I'll try to find the article, but I can't remember where I read it. Maybe it was DKos.

14. The article was recent since mention recent Quinnipiac poll #. BTW

I'm not advocating that McCain's internal polling #s are correct (I think they are totally off). I'm merely stating if McCain and his staff believe the hype from his internal polling #s then Obama will have an easier time in NC. And McCain camp would look stupid for ignoring the state.

15. again, I'm just stating McCain putting to much stock in his own internal # and Obama will win

the state because McCain camp has taken NC for granted.

17. it might be them believing their hype
but I think it's a combination of factors.
- if they moved more staff and money into NC it would broadcast the fact that they are in panic mode. Nothing kills the 'strong, ready, leader' image like flop sweat.
- utter incompetence at the mid-levels of the campaign. It's been a quite awhile since the GOP had to work for NC. They do not know what they are doing.
- McCain didn't endear himself to the state party with the whole "The NC GOP is out of touch with reality" bit back in April.

Whatever the reason I'm thrilled to see NC turning Blue!!

9. Palin as Commander in Chief?
I’m a baseball mom here in NC and Sarah Palin is an insult to me and my friends. (but y'all know that right?) :) I just threw a curve ball to a friend who was not very enthusiastically supporting the McCain/Palin ticket. Forget “is she ready for President! Ask yourself, is she ready to be Commander in Chief?” I said. The look on my friend’s face was one of horror. I kid you not. My friend actually agreed with me. She is the one who told me Cheney was like a granddad - made her feel so good. (yeah, makes you kinda sick doesn't it?)

I don't post a lot, but if this baseball mom could use it effectively on a real hockey mom, maybe the nation should think about it as well. What an insult to our service men and women! Wonder just what the folks at Ft Bragg think about her as a possible commander?

NC looks good in blue!

12. Saw my first McCain bumpersticker yesterday
driving on I 40 West towards Durham.

But that's the ONLY ONE I've seen.

There have been OBAMA stickers here for MONTHS.

McCain is in for a very rude awakening on election night in NC.

But, you go McCain guy and your laconic schedule.

18. NC is in the tank for McCain
It's solid. In fact, McCain's supporters should stay home--your candidate will win by a comfortable margin.

Meanwhile, the Obama campaign is registering 2000 voters a day in NC. Someone I spoke with said they spoke with a high up paid muckety muck in the McCain campaign and learned two things that were informative: 1. They got here less than a month ago 2. they did not know how to fill out a voter reg form.

We will turn NC blue. They are so screwn!
