Let's Hear It for David Plouffe: KICKING McCAIN'S ASS ALL OVER AMERICA
Edited on Sun Oct-05-08 09:26 PM by maseman
I was talking to a friend today about the Obama campaign. He said to me "No matter what happens on Nov. 4th the Obama camp have been doing things that we only dreamed the Dems would do in 2000 and 2004." You know what? He is exactly right.

Remember DU in 2004? We would get sooooo seething angry about Kerry dropping the ball all over when Rove would strike here and there. This year David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager, has been kicking ass and taking names. They have responded to every right-wing attack from day one and continue to do so.

Look at what happened in the past 24 hours. Yesterday in the Washington Post the McCain camp said essentially they are "turning the page" on the economy and will attack Obama's character and associations. (Meaning Ayres, Wright, etc.) In less than 24 hours Obama had stumped (in Asheville, NC. today) that McCain is "turning the page" on the economy. The Dem talking heads like Paul Begala did a huge throw-down this morning on Meet the Press warning the Reps on what counter-attack is about to happen. Apparently the Obama camp is just about ready to unleash on the Keating 5 scandal.

AT every turn Plouffe has been able to answer and end up controlling the message which is key to owning a position. (Marketing principals.)

I say a big HURRAY for Plouffe and the rest of the Obama team kicking ass. Let's pound them on Nov. 4th.

20. so funny, truly. beating an encumbent and time of war has never been done
we hear what a lousy campaign he ran, but he beat an incumbent in time of war and now..... he should have beat him more

this was all over kerrys race in 2004.

repugs did something and repugs, media and our dems blame kerry. kerry needed help, but dnc mcauliffe was worse than ineffective, he damaged kerry. dems didnt back kerry, but kerry is there to speak out for obama everytime. even his vp was invincible so often.

kerry had every odd against him and still he won

he did a hell of a job, regardless of all his so called supporters changing facts

21. The fact that Bush was an incumbent during a time of war
and Bush had Karl Rove and the conservative base at the helm did a hell of a lot to close the gap. Face it, it would have taken a hell of a lot to beat Bush at that time, even if he was unpopular.

5. Replying is fine...you are right...it is an improvement...
But the counter punch needs to be overwhelming. This man must be savaged now...everything must be thrown at him in these final weeks....including his mental capacity and anger issues. Win or lose, we need to turn their stomachs and take away the smear from their arsenal in the future. Nothing is off limits.
Let's see how tough the old man and the tart really are.

6. The Dow futures for tomorrow morning are down 174 points
That will also help McCain's attacks not make the front page.

15. But that is a fine line
Obama also has an image of being new, fresh, above that crap. His responses have been pitch perfect, because he is aggressive but still has class. Voters see that and it only makes them look worse!

Give her the rope and watch her hang herself. She is not going to appeal to women.

And turbo-charged it. Never let an opponent's charge go unanswered and hit back hard as quickly as possible.

24. Hear, hear. But give credit to Dr. Dean.
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 09:31 PM by Laelth
Obama can respond to every attack because he has the money to do so.

He has the money to do so because he has 2.5 million individual donors.

He has that because he implemented Dr. Dean's campaign strategy.

Of course, Obama and Plouffe both deserve credit for implementing the strategy very well.

But I don't care who, ultimately, gets the credit, so long as we win.
