Why is Texas Turning BLUE??? Once a Solid Red State....now undergoing change

What was it?? DeLay? Gramm? The GOP in general? The recent Let Downs by our Gov't Leaders...resulting in a poorer way of life?

What took them so long....and WHERE Are The Others???

and the failure of FEMA in the recent disasters to strike the stake. Oh wait let's not forget the fence which has been forced on farmers along the Rio Grande cutting their livestock and property off from the necessary water.

Oh I am sure it's a few things that Texans are pissed off about..

Texas has a large population of Hispanics-Americans who trend Democratic but the state is still very much in the grips of the fundamental right. I'd say we need another 8-10 years before we see the first real Democratic gains there.

Cuz we are talking only a single digit lead here by McCan't. That alone is probably making his/his people's head explode.

the best gauge i have is my kids talk politics a lot in middle school. their lonely stance for obama is becoming quiet a nice little crowd. we are in the reddest of area. they voted huckabee over mccain. they dont like bush. they dont like mccain. down south and southwest are actually pretty liberal areas. austin, houstin and elpaso.

i have seven stickers on car and not a person has said anything or caused problems. i say stuff everywhere and no one argues

i live in collin county texas,...most conservative part of texas part of the dfw metroplex. people were so disgusted by the bailout and so many other things going on in the state. not only did bush leave us with a huge deficit ( like he is doing now with the rest of the country) he left us a shitty gov that keeps coming back. texans are notoriously fickle...when our teams aren't winning or doing a good job, we turn on them like no other. the gov't sucks and it is lead by bush, hes a big loser so they bullies that texans are don't like him or his friends. i am being very simple right now but i am tired lol. plus we have a huge influx of northerners moving here as well, that always helps lol.

He's a lifelong democrat. He said this election he sees no McCain yard signs in
his neighborhood but has seen at least 4 Obama signs when last election it was almost
solid Bush as compare to his one Kerry sign. He works with lawyers, democrats
and republicans from all over the state in the capital. Most republicans hate McCain there in Texas.

Outside of the capital in red areas he sees a lot of "NO OBAMA"signs but hardly
and McCain signs. He says its weird.

He doesn't think the state will go Obama but sees a change after
Palin came on. Now, they either think she's an embarrassment or
they love her.

I and others have been registering voters all weekend and for days before that. By far the majority that I talk to seem to be Obama supporters. One in four voters is hispanic and I think at least one in four are African American. I think if the campaign wanted to turn Texas blue we could do it.

there are alot of people moving to Texas from Blue states. They don't become republican just because they move to a red state.

I think the new populations is turning it more blue.

That and the bailout. People are outraged about it. We're north of Collin County and people keep bringing up the bailout.
"Now don't get me started!" they say.

People are unhappy and except for the diehard koolaid drinkers who watch faux news nonstop, people don't want another bush.

Texans are negative towards Palin.

Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, El Paso, Brownsville, can go blue

More and more people are moving to the cities, and cities tend to vote Democratic. This, in addition to demographics (young, educated people and minorities), will hopefully lead to a shift away from the Republicans.
