I think McCain's going to lose it in the second debate
He's old and desperate and already said the debate will be a brawl - that combined with his anger issues means a meltdown. Expect a further drop in the polls for him.

1. I am fearing a bunch of gotcha questions about Ayers and Rezko
I hope Obama is ready to explain both of them clearly.

11. You better believe Obama is ready to explain them
That's exactly the sort of thing he must be preparing for the most. No getting caught off guard on that.

4. Townhall is his format...
when it is only filled with fawning supporters who signed loyalty pledges.

You got that right.
This won't be a crowd that has been hand picked, so who knows what will happen, but I tend to agree with the OP, he could have a meltdown. Every debate he goes to increases the chance that he will blow a gasket and make a fool of himself!

12. Town hall gives him a better opportunity to explode
Obama will have an easy response in this format: McCain advisors' own words about the tone of his campaign and how he doesn't put country over politics.

17. I don't think he can, he can't look Hope and Truth straight in the eyes.
It was the most telling thing in the last debate. Something in his character prevents him from having the courage to face Barack Obama. I think this says more about his weakness than anything he says.

5. Obama needs to play it cool and hit on the facts.
Johnny boy will pop on his own. We don't want to make it look like we knocked him out. Americans don't like it when senior citizens get attacked. Go Obama!!

6. Implosion is inevitable.
Obama's pissed off now. He warned John to play nice. They ignored the warning and hit him. Obama hit back harder.

I predict it will only take 2-3 mentions of the name "Keating" to initiate full thermonuclear meltdown in McRageaholic.

13. This second debate will really show which way this is going to turn
between a close finish and a landslide. I think we'll win either way, but if Obama can beat him in a town hall, and McSame doesn't improve his image somehow (which will be very hard if he's planning on playing dirty), I think we'll improve our numbers again.

5 weeks is a lifetime in politics.

3 weeks - not so much.

14. It's simply not possable for McStain
to not be McStain. How is he going to be more likable if he's aggressively goes on the attack? He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. No way out for the dishonorable one.

15. Obama knows how to deal with scum like McCain
Stay cool in the face of McCain's blustering but be forceful in what you say. Not sinking to McCain's level will just make him angrier.

19. I'm sure Obama will be fine
He can mention Keating but he won't be the one who instigated things. Keep up the memo "mavericks don't put politics over country."

22. He's too coached for that--but I'd expect him to be extremely aggressive
and very confrontational.

However, I know that the O-man's got this. Like the picture says: "EVERYONE CHILL THE FUCK OUT: I GOT THIS!"

23. Yes he's coached, but I think one reason he didn't lose it..
in the first debate is that he didn't look at Obama. He can't really avoid it this time, and once he gets aggressive, anything is possible.

28. I agree. And this aggression will occur in a town hall format, which
I think will be even more damaging. I'm sure some of his rage will be obvious when he answers questions from people in the room and that won't go over well.

stays on the front page. It will be there for months to come.
