Preaching politics from the pulpit is expressly forbidden, but it seems if it is a "personal opinion" of the pastor (see story), it will not affect the church's tax except status.
This dude is not only spewing hate, but outright lies. I would not be surprised if he is a preacher by day - and grand Wizard of the KKK at night.
Frankly, any folks in this congregation that drink this kool-aid would never vote for Obama anyway. Yet, are there not some kind of regulatory rules even for wacko preachers like this within the Christian community?
It has been said
light is the best disinfectant and while I'm all for free speech, it sure as hell seems like this church should lose it's tax exempt status or at least be exposed for what they really are.
A HATE group.
JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The First Conservative Baptist Church is no stranger to controversy and is very involved in the upcoming Presidential election making its views known about Barack Obama.
"This is the most important, most serious Presidential election in the history of America," said Dr. Gene Youngblood, the churches' pastor.
Youngblood says it is his responsibility to inform people on the issues and in this case Obama's religious views. Youngblood says he believes Obama is a Muslim. Obama is a Christian.
Youngblood says of Obama, "Everything he says stands absolutely in opposition to the word of God."
