My new tactic when speaking to wingnut coworkers and acquaintances
Sadly, I still know a handful of people who are still on the McCain Train and they just love to pick arguments with me.

So, today, while having one of those discussions, a few of them were saying that Obama doesn't have any experience and that he's soooooo dangerous. I replied calmly that McCain might have some experience, but it's the wrong kind of experience and will lead to four more disastrous years that our nation can simply not afford.

"But he's nothing like Bush! He's a maverick!" one of them exclaimed.

Wheels turned in my head and I dropped this one:

"But John McCain has voted with Bush 95% of the time!"

Almost in unison the three of them yelled back "Not 95%! 90%!!!!!!!"

And I just smiled while the silence washed over us and the hamster wheels in their brains began turning. }(

Try it, my friends. It's fun. :-)

2. The problem is...
the hamster wheels in their brains have been overturned and the hamsters are gnawing away at the remaining gray matter.

Logic means nothing. The "liberal" hatred is rendering them incapable of even simple deductions.

4. Well...
... logic isn't much with this crowd, obviously, but it was hysterical watching them realize what they had just said. And how f'n stupid it made them sound. And it had the added benefit of ending the conversation! :-)

7. That does sound like fun!
It is frightening how dumb some of them can be. To call them out on it, make them fall for it, oh, that has to be rewarding! :D

12. It's a hoot, I'm here to tell ya
And I'm growing ever more convinced that the remaining wingnuts I'm talking to won't even VOTE come November. They are utterly discredited, demoralized and speechless.

Not like I'm complaining. ;-)

8. I always say, combine in years the experience of bush, cheney, rumsfeld...
rove and ashcroft and see how well that worked out for us. I'm turning the page, maybe you should consider it too.

10. I would have responded with 'Actually, over the last year, it was 100% of the time'
That's something they probably don't know.

11. Try this one: "100% of the time." Then after they try to correct you, say, "Oh, I was talking
about how he voted whenever his vote had the slightest chance of making a difference." And you'll be correct. The 10% variance was only on votes where his vote would not affect the outcome. Obama is being kind.
