I am at Waldens Books today

and I overheard the manager telling an employee to keep an eye on the political section that customers are complaining about Waldens supporting Obama. He tells him not to display the Pro-Obama books too prominently. After the manager left I said to the employee that I couldn't help overhearing them and the pro-Obama books are outnumbered at least 2-1. He agreed but he said there are just more anti-Obama books on the market and they have been getting consumer complaints claiming they are supporting Obama. Evidence the Repugs are running scared they are trying to intimidate the stores from selling any pro-Obama books even though they are outnumbered 2-1. Maybe some e-mails to Waldens accusing them of supporting McCain would be a little fun.


on edit: The manager wasn't at fault he was concerned about the consumer complaints, I think he thought it was ridiculous too. You know the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

either turn a hannity/coulter/o'reilly/limbaugh book around or put an obama book over it.

those poor guys are in a no-win situation. they're gonna catch hell from both sides.

more anti-Obama books on the market but they get complaints from Repugs about a couple pro-Obama books. Sarah Palin may have to come and burn them.

If they're so sensitive to customer complaints, you know?

Good lord. I cannot wait till this election is over!

I used to work at Borders, and we let our lib'rul freak flag fly on a daily basis. Screw 'em if they didn't like our politics. (And our managers didn't care, either.)

The ordinary rank and file customer doesn't look at a display with that kind of a critical eye. Maybe it's time to do tit for tat and complain that pro-Obama books are outnumbered 2-1.
